Dani Pedrosa

Cvstos conceived the new limited edition Challenge Dani Pedrosa watch in a partnership with the MotoGP racer, Dani Pedrosa, resulting in a modern and refined timepiece that unites motorsports and time.

Cvstos is a new emerging brand, which in 2005 was co-founded by Sassoun Sirmakes, son of the co-owner of Franck Muller Watchland Group, and Antonio Terranova, a gifted French watch designer. The prestigious marque launched its first collection on the same year it was founded, and it managed to enchant the world with unique and luxurious timepieces. The style of the brand is contemporary and sophisticated, producing watches that can be used for both casual and smart occasions.

Cvstos’ latest creation is the Challenge Dani Pedrosa Limited Edition. This watch is a result of the partnership with the Spanish MotoGP motorcycle racer Dani Pedrosa who chose to help the brand develop a new innovative model. Dani is known worldwide because of his talent as a racer: he won seven Grand Prix races and he was awarded on the podium 16 times. The athlete, who is a good friend of Sassoun Sirmakes, is not only passionate about sports, but he confesses to share a passion for timepieces too.

After a relaxing day spent chatting in the Country Club of Geneva, Dani, Sassoun and Antonio came up with the idea of a new design, which would be more comfortable and lighter compared to the usual models produced. The union between the three resulted in an elegant watch that can be easily used for sport performances as it presents a plastic strap for a better movement of the wrist, and a light aluminium/titanium case for a more comfortable fit.

As Cvstos declared: “The Challenge Dani Pedrosa Limited Edition is an ultra-lightweight technical timepiece inspired by the thrilling, fast-paced world of motor-racing.” The brand defined its latest creation as a vision of style and technicality; Dani, Sassoun and Antonio  combined their abilities together to conceive a watch that is not just an object with an aesthetic purpose, but is a fundamental tool for people who are passionate about sports, as it is light and easy to wear.

What the partnership aimed for was to create a watch that would be sophisticated and sporty at the same time, so this gave birth to the orange-black chronograph, which has recently been launched in the market. An original feature of this watch, which has only been made in a limited series of 26 models, is the case. Made in orange aluminium or dove-grey all-titanium, the case is light and strong and it is shaped so that the watch doesn’t feel too bulky on the wrist.

Dani Pedrosa’s influence shows on the design of the timepieces, which follows some of the elements of the racing world: on the left-hand side of the case there are two vents that work as air intakes, like those of the motorbikes. Also the crown of the watch bears resemblance to the flywheel of Dani’s motorbike, and the two buttons on the right-hand side of the case recapture the throttle and brake handlebars. Cvstos, in collaboration with the MotoGP racer Dani Pedrosa, has certainly created an original timepiece that combines the passion for sports with the practicality of a watch. Cvstos is exclusively available at Sincere Fine Watches.
