The announcement also unveiled two new TAG Heuer watches created in close collaboration with the British automaker. First, the Carrera Calibre Heuer 01 Chronograph Aston Martin features a black opaline dial with hexagonal cutouts that reveal the automatic movement beneath.
The watch is a nod to the new Aston Martin Vantage sports car with prominent grooves on the sides of the steel case to evoke the racing spirit, sleek lugs inspired by Aston Martin’s bodywork, and a black ceramic tachymeter bezel.
Other sporty details include white Superluminova polished indexes, rhodium-plated hands with the central seconds hand lacquered in red at the tip. The famous Aston Martin winged logo can be found on the seconds counter at ‘9’.
The second timepiece is the Formula 1 Chronograph Aston Martin, which TAG Heuer claims to be its ultimate motor racing model “synonymous with performance and speed” inspired by Aston Martin Racing. For one, it is powered by a quartz chronograph that is accurate to a tenth of a second, a precise measurement that is helpful in a race.
Then there is the solid steel case with notched bezel and a tachymeter scale crafted in black aluminum. Lime green accents, including on the winged logo, stand out against the black dial, and lend the watch an athletic flavour. And for the first time in the Formula 1 collection, it comes with a black leather strap with lime green stitching.
