The stylish socialite and Mugler fan shares what she really, really wants from the buzzy fashion collaboration
Mugler x H&M, the hottest fashion collaboration of the moment, is launching on May 11—and the most stylish people we know couldn’t be more excited. Amongst that glamourous set is Jaime Xie, who was one of the best-dressed stars of Netflix’s hit reality TV series, Bling Empire.
Xie, a Fashion Week regular, makes no secret of her love for Mugler. Like fellow It-girls Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, and all of Blackpink, the 25-year-old is fully on board with designer Casey Cadwaller’s glamazonian vision for the fashion brand, which involves cut-out catsuits, bodycon dresses and super sharp tailoring. Cadwaller himself takes cues from the brand’s late founder, Thierry Mugler, who transformed his fashion shows into spectacles in the ‘80s and the ‘90s with models clad in his extravagant couture creations inspired by fantasy, theatre, dance and Old Hollywood.

“Casey does an incredible job highlighting the female form with his placement of the sheer panels,” Xie, who has flaunted several Mugler outfits on her Instagram, tells Tatler Singapore. “The designs make the women wearing them feel powerful, sexy, and confident, so it’s cool to see him reinterpret many of his iconic Mugler pieces for H&M.”
Indeed, the collaboration hardly waters down Cadwaller’s dramatic aesthetic that has so captivated the fashion crowd. In the collection’s look book—modelled by Mugler’s diverse cast of muses such as Imaan Hammam, Sora Choi, Mariacarla Boscono, Jerry Hall and musician Arca—we see edgy ensembles in denim, leather and nylon, mostly comprising the aforementioned Mugler style signatures, as well as a generous sprinkling of accessories like body chains, silver-tone necklaces and statement earrings.
