In the aftermath of what is arguably Kuala Lumpur’s largest fashion event of the year, we sift through the feathers and flair to bring you our favourite highlights of this year’s Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2018.

Keeping It Real

We absolutely love that fashion is evolving to be more inclusive of the myriad body shapes and types out there. FashionValet X MinLuna showed us that curves were meant to be strutted out and proud, sending models of varying ages and body types onto the runway to thunderous applause from the crowd. Ladies such as Didiyana Ehsan and Sonya Charles received so much love from the crowd when they appeared on the catwalk.

Melium didn't hold back when it came to embracing diversity either, sending more than a couple of very familiar faces down the runway.

Veterans To The Front

A sense of déjà vu enveloped the crowd at Dato' Jovian Mandagie’s show as the supermodels of Malaysia showed us all a glimpse of their catwalk skills that night. Strutting their stuff like they hadn’t aged a day, models Amber Chia, Vanessa Tevi, Aleeza Kasim, Fadzlun Abas and Hartini Mat Jasin or better known as Tinie made it a show to remember.

While we're on the subject of the Jovian Mandagie show, the designer also had a heart-warming moment on the runway which happens to be our next highlight.

The Return Of Jovian Mandagie

Jovian Mandagie returns to KLFW after several years of being absent from the scene and this time round drew a resounding 'aww' from the adoring crowd. The man himself not only assembled the supermodel girl gang of our dreams, but also walked out at the finale with his daughter in his arms, swept his wife Datin Nina Ismail Sabri from her front row seat and gave us all the feels.

Dressy Debut

May Tan of Maarimaia Privé would’ve been a proud mama of her label on the third day of KLFW2018. Since its inception in December 2016, May had been biding her time, forgoing a 2017 debut to create something she really felt and stood for and now, two years later Maarimaia Privé has finally graced the runways of KLFW. Congratulations!

And last but not least on our favourite moments at KLFW2018...

Not So Tiny, Tinie

All we can say is Tinie was very much in demand at this year’s KLFW. Closing and opening for the likes of Fiziwoo and Jovian Mandagie just to name a few, she dominated the runway no matter the outfit much to the delight of the crowd.
