Perfect as a weekend indulgence or mid-week treat, anytime is a good time for a mani-pedi.

Don’t we all love a good mani-pedi? It’s life-enhancing really, and not to mention therapeutic and absolutely necessary, both for the vanity and sanity.

The beautiful perks of a mani-pedi session are aplenty. It can be done alone or in a party, as a weekend indulgence or mid-week treat to relax, renew and beautify your hands and feet.

When it comes to offering attractive manicure and pedicure, The Nail Parlour ticks all the right boxes for ambience, variety, service and hygiene. Owned and managed by sisters Lim May Shen and Lim May Jian, this nail salon is my personal favourite.

Known for running seasonal offers that are too irresistible to pass, I recently checked in at The Nail Parlour for a strawberry kiwi manicure & pedicure and surrendered completely to the skilled hands of the parlour’s personnel.

After a nice warm foot bath, I had my nails meticulously trimmed, cleaned and filed. Taking a dollop of the delicious, exfoliating strawberry kiwi scrub and a fat spoon of real honey, the nail technician effectively massaged the luscious concoction all over my feet while applying just the right amount of pressure to relieve aches and pains.

After allowing the dizzyingly delicious, creamy substance to settle down and work its magic, it was time for a quick wash down. This was followed by a generous application of the restorative foot masque for added hydration before the feet were wrapped in heated booties for about 15 minutes.

Thereafter, the masque was washed off and the feet were treated to a lush strawberry kiwi lotion enriched with shea butter and cocoa butter.

The procedure was then repeated for the hands. This indulgent treatment is finished off with a selection of 200 nail polish shades to choose from. I opted for a bright colour with a one glitter-finished finger which made for some major nail envy.

At present, Luxe by The Nail Parlour – the posher extension of the successful nail salon chain – has a special treat up its sleeves. Enter Paraffin Infusion, a nourishing warm treatment for extra hydration and protection from dryness and cracking that will do the hands and feet plenty of good.

It’s a luxurious treat before having a mani-pedi, for it softens the skin as well as increases local blood flow and relaxes muscles and joints. All thanks to its enriching ingredients in the likes of shea butter, beeswax and soy extracts infused with green and white tea, grapeseed, green apple and berries.
