Court shoes by Ateliers Tersi and Matali Crasset

Whether it is interior or fashion, design is design and these collections show us just how thin the barrier between the two worlds really are.

The Japanese studio Nendo has dreamed up its first slipper and the French designer Philippe Starck will soon launch a capsule collection for the Brazilian shoe brand Ipanema. With so many collaborations coming out of the worlds of fashion and design, the barrier between them seems to be breaking down.

Nendo's triangle roomshoes

This pair of slippers fits in with the pared-down style of the Japanese designer Oki Sato from the Nendo agency. The cone-shaped slipper, which is somewhere between a pocket structure and footwear, is available in gray and cream. The roomshoes' geometrical form enables them to be stacked on top of one another for storage.

Philippe Starck for Ipanema

The superstar French designer Philippe Starck has turned his attention to feet in this collaboration with the Brazilian shoe brand Ipanema. This capsule collection, which will hit the shelves next January, is manufactured with 30% recycled material. It consists of 42 models including sandals (around €50), ballet flats and flip-flops (around €40).

Matali Crasset for Ateliers Tersi

Every three months, Ateliers Tersi asks a designer or public figure to come up with a temporary collection. The French designer Matali Crasset has designed four pieces of leather footwear inspired by urban life (from €350 to €380). These court shoes feature splashes of yellow, blue or red.

Marc Newson for G-Star

Marc Newson, an internationally-renowned Australian designer who has worked with companies such as Alessi, Louis Vuitton and Dom Perignon, has collaborated with the G-Star brand for 11 years. In his latest collection, the designer has included a quilted nylon overshirt inspired by hunting, and a lumberjack-style overshirt in red wool. The whole range features the designer's signature, which is a sort of stylistic scribble.
