Launched at the 21st Habanos Festival celebrating premium cigars in Havana, the new Pilot Type 20 collection pays a gorgeous tribute to Trinidad cigar’s 50th anniversary.

In 2016, Zenith created a sublime El Primero watch to mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary Cohiba cigar. This year, it turns its attention to the Habano Trinidad, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. An indulgent cigar known for its rich, aromatic and medium flavour, it is considered an icon among connoisseurs.

The collaboration between Zenith and Habanos stems from their shared passion for making exceptional creations, and the three watches in the Pilot Type 20 edition created in Trinidad’s honour are a testament to this.

First, it is endowed with the El Primero 4069 automatic chronograph movement, a direct descendant of the world’s most accurate series-made chronograph calibre that is also turning 50 this year. It beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour and boasts a 50-hour power reserve.

Design-wise, it is dominated by brown - and the earthy tone looks incredibly fine on these watches. The dial is Havana brown with tobacco leaf pattern. The calfskin strap matches the dial in colour but features Trinidad logos instead. Case options include yellow gold, rose gold and white gold, with the caseback engraved with the Trinidad 50th Anniversary logo.
