A restored Spitfire MK IX fighter aircraft from the World War II era has begun its journey around the world, an ambitious expedition supported by IWC Schaffhausen. The first leg of the journey to Iceland on Aug 5 was piloted by Matt Jones who founded the Boultbee Flight Academy for Spitfire pilots with his co-pilot Steve Boultbee Brooks. About 400 guests, including IWC ambassadors Rosamund Pike and David Coulthard, gave them a rousing send-off at Goodwood Estate. Spotted on the pilots' wrists were their very own IWC Pilot's Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition "The Longest Flight". The Silver Spitfire aircraft will cover a total of 43,000km and 30 countries.
