Jaeger-LeCoultre and the South Korean actor—who is the new ambassador for the brand—are celebrating the upcoming The Sound Maker exhibition in Seoul this summer

Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre and Kim Woo-bin are celebrating The Sound Maker exhibition, which is set to take place in Seoul this summer. The South Korean actor, who recently made a comeback to the spotlight following his treatment and recovery from nasopharyngeal cancer, is also a new ambassador for the maison and has been photographed wearing the watchmaker's Reverso Tribute Nonantième.

The Reverso is a watch that, despite its numerous variations since launching in 1931, remains completely timeless. This latest edition by Jaeger-LeCoultre has been unveiled to coincide with the collection’s 90th anniversary. Thanks to its sleek silhouette and flip-over case, this timepiece perfectly combines JaegerLeCoultre’s past with its present.

The Nonantième's front dial is elegant and traditional with a silvered, sunray-brushed dial, applied golden indexes and Dauphine hands. A delicate moon phase is detailed within a small seconds display for added beauty. But flip the case over and you have a completely different look: a digital semi-jumping hour is semi-integrated with a night-day indication that’s stunningly minimal.

"I'm very delighted to be a Friend of Jaeger-LeCoultre, with the long history of 188 years and great watchmaking expertise. I look forward to the new journey with Jaeger-LeCoultre," says Kim.

Kim's first activity as the new brand ambassador is first The Sound Maker exhibition, to be held from June 16 - July 4 at Dong Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. It will immerse visitors in the creative and cultural universe of Jaeger-LeCoultre, exploring the uniquely rich heritage—past, president and future—of chiming watches at La Grande Maison and paying homage to its home in Vallée de Joux.

The heartthrob gained popularity throughout Asia following his role as Choi Do-young in hit Korean drama The Heirs with Lee Min-ho. Since then, he established a captivating presence in acclaimed TV and box-office hit movies of various genres, from romantic comedies as such as Twenty to dramas such as Uncontrollably Fond with Suzy Bae and action films such as Master.

He is set to make his highly-anticipated return to the screen with the sci-fi movie, Alien. Alongside his passion for acting, the 31-year-old is intensely engaged in social contribution.
