The red carpet at the Tatler Ball 2021 was defined by its megawatt diamond jewellery and handsome timepieces

On December 20, Tatler Ball 2021 took place after a two-year hiatus and Hong Kong's most influential personalities arrived at M+ Museum in lashings of gemstones and timeless wristwatches to celebrate.

More is always more, and Tatler's guests piled on the diamonds designed by world-class jewellers including Chopard, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels, much of which was further elevated by stunning watches including Rolexes and Dior Grand Bal Plumes.

1. Veronica Chou

Businesswoman Veronica Chou looked stunning in a vintage Karl Lagerfeld dress, which she accessorised with swirling Chopard earrings, a three-stone high jewellery ring and a pavé diamond wristwatch, which was strapped to the wrist using black leather.

2. Anaïs Mak

Fashion designer Anaïs Mak wore pieces from her own line of fine jewellery, Anaïs Emphasis, which she creates in collaboration with Emphasis Jewellery. These silver structures popped against her teal feathered Bottega Veneta ensemble, which featured plenty of volume and bounce.

3. Kai Yin Lo

Art curator and historian Kai Yin Lo often pays tribute to Chinese history, and she continued this trend on Tatler Ball 2021's red carpet. Lo wore an asymmetric cheongsam of her own design, which she paired with mismatched shoes (a creative touch she is famous for) as well as a pearl-set brooch and coral- and jade-mounted earrings from her namesake jewellery brand, Kai Yin Lo Design.

4. Michel Lamunière

Michel Lamunière, owner and executive chairman of Tatler Asia, wowed in a well-fitted Louis Vuitton suit, which he complemented with a dashing white-gold and blue-dialled Chopard LUC Flying T Twin Tourbillon watch.

5. Tamara Lamunière

A butterfly-themed Chopard ring was worn alongside a pair of flower-shaped earrings, all of which were set in slivers of white gold and mounted with diamonds. These beautifully complemented an extremely pretty gown by Australian fashion label Alice McCall, which was worn by Tatler's managing director Tamara Lamunière.

6. Sean Fitzpatrick

Sean Fitzpatrick, Tatler's regional managing director of dining and events, wore a timeless tuxedo with a handsome Chopard Alpine Eagle timepiece, which was first unveiled to Hong Kong collectors at The Murray's Popinjays in 2019.

7. Antonia Da Cruz

Fitness fanatic and avid traveller Antonia Da Cruz amazed in an elegant one-shoulder, lime green-coloured dress. Beautifully textured, this gown looked great alongside Da Cruz's drop earrings, which feature all the hallmarks you'd expect of Italian jeweller Buccellati, including exquisite craftsmanship and exceptional engravings.

 

8. Peter Cheung

A marketing and communications expert with 20 years of industry experience in promoting arts and antiquities, high fashion, high jewellery and watches, Peter Cheung always looks glamorous, and his appearance on Tatler Ball 2021's red carpet was no exception. Cheung's Dries Van Noten silver-fringed lurex jacket sparkled next to a Lotus diamond "between-the-finger" ring designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.

9. Eleanor Lam

Businesswoman and social media influencer Eleanor Lam wore an embellished Gucci gown with a peek-a-boo bodice. She carried a glittering clutch in the shape of an anatomical heart, also by Gucci, which she wore with a rose-gold Serpenti necklace and emerald-set earrings, all by Bulgari.

10. Edwin Pun

Hong Kong A-lister Edwin Pun, the youngest son of Benson Pun, chairman of Keyestone Properties, which develops residential and commercial real estate in Hong Kong and Mainland China, arrived at M+ Museum draped in dramatic jewels by Italian jeweller Bulgari.

11. Emily Lam-Ho

Chopard is renowned for its diamond expertise, but what’s less known is that the jeweller’s yellow diamonds are just as important as its whites, which Emily Lam-Ho showcased at Tatler Ball 2021. Lam-Ho opted for a pair of yellow-gold earrings, which were defined by splashes of yellow and white gemstones.

12. Cissy Wang

Married to Tatler December cover star Donnie Yen, Cissy Wang of EcoDrive looked incredible in a champagne-coloured gown, which she updated with royal-blue Chopard high jewellery chandelier-style earrings. Wang finished off the look with a statement chunky cuff.

13. Victoria Tang-Owen

The photographer daughter of the late David Tang, Victoria Tang is the founder of multidisciplinary design studio Thirty30 Creative. She looked breathtaking on the red carpet wearing a Giambattista Valli dress, excellently accessorised with Chopard earrings.

14. Queenie Rosita Law

Queenie Rosita Law is the director and founder of Q Art Group, a three-tiered art platform that brings fine art to a wider audience. This creative character also opted for blue and white in the form of Chopard high jewellery. She wore an extraordinary cocktail ring set with a vivid blue sapphire, as well as a matching choker necklace that subtly sat like soft fabric along the collarbone.

15. Dee Poon

Dee Poon is the daughter of not one but two fashion business legends, so it comes as no surprise that she brought an elegant look to the Tatler Ball, which included a leaf wreath-inspired pair of earrings set with sparkling white diamonds.
