Having dressed the biggest names from Kuala Lumpur to Hollywood, the Farah Khan label is set to spread its wings and literally take to the skies with the announcement of a special collaboration with national carrier Malaysia Airlines.

The move will see the eponymous designer redesign the iconic kebaya uniform of Malaysia Airlines’ cabin crew, among others, marking a true cultural milestone that sees the coming together of two Malaysian giants.

Not much of a sneak peek has been revealed but creative director and designer Dato’ Sri Farah Khan was quoted as saying that the new look will let shine forth the “graciousness, warmth and hospitality that Malaysia is famous for.”

Altogether, she will be lending her fashion Midas touch to the uniforms for crew members on the flight deck, cabin crew, airport staff and engineers in a collection that will be revealed towards the end of this year.

Designer uniforms for airline crews are nothing new, but still somehow spark a lot of interest. Among the first to do so was Emilio Pucci, who had designed a highly memorable collection for the now defunct Texas-based airline Braniff International Airways that operated from 1928 - 1982. In more recent years, Prabal Gurung, Vivienne Westwood and Zac Posen have also lent their designs to a number of airlines.

Have a look below.

Things look to be going really well for Dato' Sri Farah, who just last year celebrated her 60th birthday in a grand do.
