From Bruce Lee to the Orion star constellation, the inspirations behind these timepieces are as captivating as they are diverse

Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Aeronavale Bronze

This chronograph is striking for its bronze-and-blue combo, a gorgeous marriage of vintage and contemporary. The bronze case will also adopt the patina of the owner over time, making each of the 999 pieces that will ever be produced even more unique.

Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate

Exclusive to its boutiques, the Villeret Ultraplate in platinum is an instant classic with its minimalist dial displaying only the hours and minutes. For all its minimalism, there is a surprise waiting on the caseback – turn it around to find the power reserve display on one of the bridges that are decorated with the traditional Cotes de Geneve motif.

Breitling AVI Ref. 765 1953 Re-Edition

Reborn for a new generation of fans, the second historical re-edition was originally a pilot’s watch called the Co-Pilot that reinterpreted the onboard clocks designed and produced by Breitling’s Huit Aviation Department.

The design details remain faithful to the Co-Pilot, from the 41.1mm stainless steel case and the bezel secured by three screws to the Arabic numerals and slim syringe hands. Functionally, it’s more powerful: it has a water resistance up to 30m and the COSC-certified B09 movement based on the in-house Caliber 01, making it the perfect wingman for the discerning gentleman.

Casio G-Shock Mr-G x Bruce Lee

If Bruce Lee was alive today, he would be 80. Casio is celebrating the fact with a special G-Shock MRG-G2000BL timepiece adorned in black and yellow, the colours of the iconic tracksuit worn by the screen legend in his last film, Game of Death.

Elsewhere, the bezel is engraved with a Chinese phrase that expresses the essence of Jeet Kune Do, the martial arts philosophy founded by Lee. The Chinese character of dragon, which is Lee’s nickname, appears at 3 o’clock.

Girard-Perregaux 1966 Orion

Available in steel, DLC steel and pink gold, it pays tribute to its namesake with a dial made of aventurine that resembles a sky full of stars. The aventurine appears in a choice of blue or black.

Maurice Lacroix Aikon Chronograph Skeleton

Quite possibly the boldest expression of the Aikon yet, it is endowed with the new ML234 calibre distinguished by a series of five concentric circles running diagonally throughout the watch. Their black DLC surfaces lend an ultra-sleek touch.

Omega Constellation Gents

The 5th generation Constellation Gents collection mirrors the ladies’ collection in design upgrades, which range from the polished and beveled case edges and slimmer claws to the triangular hour markers inspired by the Freedom Tower in New York. Measuring 39mm in case diameter, every watch in the collection, including the 18k Sedna gold version, has also been enhanced with a Master Chronometer movement.

Vacheron Constantin Égérie Self-Winding

With a name that means muse, the new Égérie collection inspires with a simple design with unique touches. For instance, this automatic version features a well-proportioned 35mm round case in 18k 5N rose gold adorned with 58 diamonds on the slim bezel. This classic appearance is broken up by a crown uncharacteristically positioned between 1 o’clock and 2 o’clock, and topped with a moonstone.

On the dial, the couture-inspired pleats are the result of a tapestry technique using a 1904 pantograph-type machine whose gears have been adjusted to transfer from a large motif to a miniature version. Other couture references include the calligraphic numerals recalling delicate embroidery and leaf-shaped hands that resemble the fine needles used by a seamstress. This pretty picture is further enhanced by the off-centre display of the date inside a sub-dial encircled by diamonds.

The movement is no slob either – the in-house 1088 calibre with 40-hour power reserve boasts Cotes de Geneve motif and an openworked Maltese cross oscillating weight in 22k gold.
