Pre-SIHH 2019: Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers Grand Complication Phoenix
Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers, a bespoke atelier dedicated to making a watch enthusiast’s wildest dreams come true, has been responsible for some of the industry’s most astonishing watches such as the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600 and the Reference 57260 pocket watch with a whopping 57 complications.
Its latest masterpiece, the Grand Complication Phoenix, only has 15 complications but it boasts a magnificent exterior of a golden phoenix engraved in bas-relief around the caseband and in fine line on the bezel and caseback. It requires an artisan with at least 10 years’ of experience to spend 300 hours of patient sculpting to create this intricate motif of a phoenix ready to take flight on 18k gold. The details are so exquisite you’d find it hard to take your eyes of it.
The watch also boasts two dials in slate grey to accommodate all the complications that include a minute repeater, a tourbillon, a perpetual calendar, a moonphase, a sky chart and a sunset/ sunrise time. The Calibre 2755 is composed of 839 parts and 40 jewels, and is endowed with 58 hours of power reserve.
Whoever the client is, he or she will be extremely happy with this one-of-a-kind model that aptly showcases Vacheron Constantin’s unique flair for both mechanical and artisanal crafts.
