Piaget Limelight Stella

Designed and crafted in Piaget's main production and development workshops, the "Limelight Stella" has an astronomical moon phase -- a traditional complication that tracks the lunar cycle.

With the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) fine watchmaking trade fair running January 18-22 in Geneva, Switzerland, the Swiss watchmaker Piaget has presented "Limelight Stella," the brand's first ever complication watch designed for women.

Designed and crafted in Piaget's main production and development workshops in La Côte-aux-Fées and Geneva, the "Limelight Stella" has an astronomical moon phase -- a traditional complication that tracks the lunar cycle (new moon, full moon, first quarter, last quarter). This is a first for a Piaget women's watch.

Driven by a new mechanical automatic movement, this timepiece has hour, minute and second hands on a main dial that's home to a cutaway moon-phase window. This takes the form of a fan-shaped aperture at 12 o'clock, lined with 14 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Piaget promises an exceptionally accurate moon phase thanks to a specially designed mechanism that tracks the astronomical moon cycle. The moon-phase disc is driven by a wheel with 135 teeth, which reproduces a precise moon cycle of 29 days, 12 hours and 45 minutes -- a difference of just 0.23 seconds per day compared to the actual cycle of the moon. Thanks to this, a correction of one day will only be necessary after 122 years of use.

Master watchmaker Piaget has twinned this high-end craftsmanship with a stylish design, finishing the "Limelight Stella" with clean lines and a feminine look. The watch's 36mm case comes in a choice of 18-karat pink gold or 18-karat white gold. This houses a sunray dial with pink gold or white gold index lines. The pink gold model comes with a refined polished bezel or a bezel set with 126 diamonds. The white gold model has a diamond-set bezel.

The Piaget "Limelight Stella" comes with an alligator leather strap in a selection of colors (including blue and taupe).
