The Swiss manufacture's ION Orchard boutique in Singapore is open for business - in virtual reality

Since Covid-19 has caused most of us to stay home to stay safe and be more conscious about social distancing when we leave the house, shopping for pleasure is one of the things we have to put on hold for the time being. However, IWC Schaffhausen has come up with a novel solution that allows you to shop in its boutique - without being physically there.

Welcome to its virtual reality (VR) boutique, where one gets the same experience of being in an actual boutique, from browsing the products to engaging in casual chit-chat with the salesperson, but from a safe distance.

“With the launch of our new virtual reality retail experience, the IWC Virtual Boutique perfectly embodies the brand’s DNA and offers a tailored online shopping experience," says Stanislas Rambaud, managing director of IWC South East Asia. "At a time where virtual connections are more frequent and accessible than physical ones, visitors can now enjoy the convenience and availability of an IWC experience, outside the traditional retail infrastructure.”

Using a 360-degree technology, the VR boutique brings you into a digitised version of its ION Orchard flagship where you can view all six of its watch families. All you have to do is "walk" up to the shelves, browse and choose which watch you'd like to take a closer look, just as you would if you're actually in the store. You can even speak to one of its client advisors in real time, a service that is available every weekday from 10 am - 7pm.

For an even more personalised experience, make a private e-appointment with a client advisor for a boutique walkthrough and a presentation of new novelties such as the latest Portugieser collections.
