Space Jam: A New Legacy—the highly-awaited sequel to the 1996 classic Space Jam—hits theatres today. Featuring American basketballer LeBron James and the Looney Tunes, this feel-good flick takes audiences on a technicolour journey through the virtual Warner 3000 Server-Verse, following the Tune Squad as they take on fresh challenges, and have fun doing it! And as we get ready for a nostalgia-packed movie night, what better way to celebrate this much-anticipated release than getting our hands on some of the Tune Squad's exclusive fits?
Created in collaboration with Nike, the Space Jam collection, which includes jerseys and sneakers, features colourways and graphic treatments aimed at introducing a new generation of fans to the world of Looney Tunes.
For the court, a three-style series of the LeBron 18 Low, available in both adult and kids sizes, uses a split colour design as a callback to some of the most memorable face-offs in the franchise's history. Air Force 1s featuring a host of characters are also available in adult and toddler sizes, perfect for any current (or future!) sneakerhead.
Also previewed in the film is the new LeBron 19, which boasts a double-chambered Air Max unit in the heel and a newly shaped Zoom Air forefoot unit for a reliable underfoot ride. According to Nike Basketball footwear designer Jason Petrie, the new platform was inspired by the futuristic magic behind the movie.
The collection also features Nike and LeBron-branded Dri-fit uniforms made from smooth, shiny Durasheen fabric with an engineered print and stitched-down twill logos featuring the two all-star teams: the Tune Squad and the Goon Squad. The Tune Squad varsity jacket incorporates the same premium letter stitching across the chest, while a vibrant, all-over orange print lines the inside.
