The Sleek & Monochrome Style Of Nicole Singam
Having returned to Malaysia after spending years in Auckland, it's all in a day's work for stylish Nicole Singam, who's adapting to local business culture while managing an independent insurance loss adjusting and investigation company.
Making a foothold in the corporate world has instilled in her dress code an aesthetic of classic meets monochromatic, embellished with a touch of quirk spurred from a love for fashion. Nicole conveys these exciting times with a black and white blazer that functions as her power look by day, and smart-casual essential by night.
1/6 Can you describe your style?
My style carries a fairly classic neutral colour palette with an assortment of timeless pieces that will weather many seasons. My look is typically effortlessly chic with a pop of colour to elevate a somewhat bland outfit into something glamorous with a touch of pizzazz.
2/6 How do you plan your wardrobe?
The way I dress is far more intuitive than strategised. Nevertheless, depending on the event I’m attending, I do plan ahead to ensure that the fitting is perfect and tailored well.
3/6 What are your 3 wardrobe essentials?
The must-haves in my wardrobe is a classic black leather handbag with gold accents, a crisp white Oxford shirt and a signature perfume scent.
4/6 What’s the most cherished accessory that you’ve had?
My Tiffany 1837 Interlocking ring that was gifted to me by someone very special in my life, it holds a beautiful memory everytime I wear it.
5/6 Is there a style trend that you dislike?
I don’t subscribe to trends, hence I do not have an opinion. If Vogue is to be believed on the topic, French women, who we are all so quick to admire, don't care as much about what's being shown at fashion week as they do about what makes sense for their body type and lifestyle.
To each their own, I’ll say.
6/6 Do you have a style icon?
I have always adored Megan Markle’s style which has evolved beautifully over the last few years, from adorning crisp collared shirts often paired with a pencil skirt or tailored trousers to royal gowns. She has managed to remain effortlessly classy.
How do you style your staple blazer for day and night?
