Naomi Campbell offers a glimpse of her 'beautiful little blessing' to the world

The 50-year-old supermodel made the surprise announcement over Instagram by posting an adorable photo of her cradling her daughter's feet, with the caption: "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."

The congratulations and well wishes have come pouring in from her star-studded friends, including Vanessa Bryant, Zoe Saldana, Donatella Versace and Munroe Bergdorf. Marc Jacobs, Campbell's close friend and collaborator since 1994, commented: "Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around."

Over the years, Campbell has been vocal about her desire to become a mother.

"I think about having children all the time, with science I can do it when I want," she said in an interview with the Evening Standard in 2017. In a later feature for Vogue Arabia, she also added, "I love kids and always will. When I’m around children, I become a child myself. That’s the little girl I don’t ever want to lose."

In the last year, Campbell has been very busy indeed. Besides being vindicated for her iconic travel outfit in March 2020—a full hazmat suit paired with Burberry—she has appeared in Kim Jones' show-stopping women's haute couture debut for Fendi and continued her efforts in uplifting African artists, recently showing off the artwork and furniture she has collected to decorate her luxury villa in Kenya.

A few hours after the announcement about her 'little blessing', she released the latest episode of No Filter With Naomi, where she interviews prominent figures in fashion, politics and more. Some big names that have already featured on the show include Diane von Furstenberg, Lee Daniels, Cindy Crawford and Demi Moore.

It is unclear whether or not she will take some time off to adjust to new motherhood but retirement is not even a consideration for Campbell. As she wrote in an essay for a biographical book released earlier this year, Naomi. Updated Edition, she doesn't have any plans to retire but isn't opposed to taking some well-deserved time to 'chill out'.
