What does Omega have to offer this year? Here are 5 watches that stood out at the Swatch Group’s Time To Move presentation recently.

It has been 50 years since the Omega Speedmaster became the first watch to land on the moon. This is the second limited edition (6,969 pieces) to celebrate the milestone, and it boasts a 42mm stainless steel case with the patent-pending 18k Moonshine gold bezel paired with a polished ceramic bezel ring. The ring itself is emblazoned with a tachymeter scale in Ceragold, an Omega-exclusive material.

References to Apollo 11 can be found in the counter at ‘9’ that features an laser-engraved image of Buzz Aldrin descending to the moon surface in Moonshine gold, and the Arabic numeral ‘11’, also in Moonshine gold. Powered by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, strap options include a metal version inspired by the bracelet of the 4th generation Speedmaster and a Velcro strap in blackened cork that recalls the Apollo-era “boost protective cover”.

2/5Seamaster Planet Ocean

The combination of orange, stainless steel and a rugged ceramised titanium dial suggests adventure, which is apt considering the Planet Ocean’s dive origins. Notably, the orange on the ceramic bezel ring is created via a new process that has been submitted for patent. A five-stripe Nato strap in orange, grey and white only enhances the outdoorsy appeal.

The details on the new Seamaster Aqua Terra corroborate to deliver a truly attractive worldtimer. There is the handsome brushed and polished stainless steel case integrated with a blue rubber strap with light blue stitching. The dial boasts vertical teak stripes with a central counter in grade 5 titanium decorated with the image of the Earth as seen from the North Pole.

Framing the Earth is a hesalite ring with a 24-hour scale in two tones – light blue for daytime and dark blue for nighttime. Last but not least, the 24-city display on the outer dial includes Bienne, the home of Omega.

4/5Constellation Manhattan

There is something about blue aventurine that seems to make everything prettier. The new Constellation Manhattan is proof of that. Glistening like stars in the night sky, the glass forms a magical dial that brightens up the 18k Sedna gold case. Diamonds double as the hour markers; the precious gems also embellish the bezel with four distinct claws.

5/5De Ville Tresor

It’s hard not to develop a blue crush on this elegant gentleman’s watch in 40mm stainless steel case with a blue dial and strap. The subtle markings on the domed dial are the result of brass stamping, creating an interesting a fabric-like backdrop for the 18k white gold hands and indexes.
