Celebrate escapism and adventure with The North Face x Gucci collection

After months of anticipation, Gucci finally reveals its collaboration with The North Face that interprets the theme of exploration and adventure. This 70s inspired collection recalls trips to wintry slopes and hikes up the mountains—alluring, outdoor adventures we've set our sights on after being cooped up at home.

Encouraging metaphorical escapade, creative director Alessandro Michele celebrates the spirit of exploration with a nature-inspired outerwear, puffer coats, quilted jackets, windbreakers and more.

Since 1966, North Face has been a pioneer in outdoor gear. Aligned with Gucci's mantra of empowering people in their quest to celebrate their freedom and personality, the campaign was shot by Daniel Shea in the Alps. Its atmosphere evokes the aesthetic of the 70s. Capturing colourful candid moments up in the peaks, by the lake and in the forest, the collection's retro and floral prints match the lush, sunny setting.

This unisex collection, which will be available in Malaysia from January 8, 2021 onwards, includes ready-to-wear, soft accessories, luggage and shoes, as well as some unexpected pieces linked to the outdoor world such as tents and sleeping bags. From goose feather down padded coats and printed backpacks to sturdy boots with rope-like striped laces, the collection was inspired by the materials library of The North Face. Archival fabrics were reinterpreted to give them new life. Even the bright palette evokes The North Face's colour motifs.

For luggage, there are eight new graphic patterns—all of which showcase bright colours and a variety of Gucci motifs as well as different versions of the The North Face x Gucci logo.

Promoting sustainability, the The North Face x Gucci packaging is also designed to reduce environmental impact. Paper and cardboards come from sustainably managed forest sources; uncoated paper is used to ensure it is fully recyclable. Boxes are equipped with their own handles to render shopping bags unnecessary.
