The Swiss manufacture has a new muse and her name is Égérie
The oldest surviving watch manufacture in the world is also an expert when it comes to courting the ladies. In February, Vacheron Constantin launched a new mechanical feminine collection whose name is the French word for muse, Égérie.
The whole premise of this collection is elegance and timelessness, which is achieved by combining a classic element in high fashion and good ol’ Swiss timekeeping.

The former refers to the art of tapestry, adapted on the dial as a beautiful pleated pattern. To get this look, the artisans have to make some adjustments to a 1905 pantograph-type machine to reproduce a large format motif in miniature version, a process that took months. The tip of the burin has to be regularly sharpened in order to achieve the drape-like effect.
