Salvatore Ferragamo Special: What’s In Scha Alyahya’s Bag Of Tricks?
An exciting era of diversity and empowerment has taken 21st-century women by storm, kindling their strengths and individuality in their own feminine way. Fronting the movement of savvy modernity is Scha Alyahya, a mother, celebrity, wife and fashionista, whose refreshing originality stems from a passion for each of these roles.
Wherever Scha goes, her star power attracts admiration and wonder. Her trademark poise is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, with a career in the public eye, fashion scene and as a modern mum. From there, she’s learned to keep her priorities in check, neatly packed into an image of edgy style and a love for astute and timeless accessories.
I love to experiment but at the same time, I make sure to keep it simple and as real as it can get.
“If I feel like I want to dress up, I have to have a statement piece. It can be a handbag, a watch or a bracelet, it depends on my mood,” she tells us, clad in an edgy Salvatore Ferragamo outfit, clutching the new Boxyz bag in fuchsia pink.
We went on to explore topics personal and professional that are close to Scha’s heart, of juggling priorities, her flair for fashion in line with Salvatore Ferragamo’s polished style and a legacy she hopes to leave behind.

What does it mean to be a modern woman?
It’s to have the confidence and independence in my future and my career, to have the undivided support of my husband and family. I am blessed to have established myself in the industry. In this modern society, everything revolves around social media but as long as you know what you are doing, where you are going, use it to encourage and inspire other women around you.
What’s your approach to style?
I love to experiment but at the same time, I make sure to keep it simple and as real as it can get. As long as you feel good, as long as you feel confident, and also you feel comfortable, then you are good to go.
It’s strong, it’s solid and compact. That’s like us, all women.
— Scha Alyahya
How do you stay poised in the face of challenges?
I work better and I function better in a very chaotic environment. In order to handle the situation better, I make sure to stay composed, relaxed and cool no matter what comes my way.
What’s the legacy you hope to leave behind?
For people to remember Scha as a balanced and positive woman. I want Lara Alana, my daughter, to know that she’s been a blessing to me. She has changed me a lot. Since having her, I’ve learned to be calmer and more collected, and take things as they come. To me you, have to set your priorities. I used to be very rigid but now I’m flexible: I’ve learned a lot from having a child.
How does femininity, motherhood and showbiz make you value yourself as a woman?
I know what I want now, but I know I’m not alone at the same time; as a mother, a wife and career woman, I try not to keep myself too busy. At the end of the day, I know I have a unit I have to take care of. I value everything around me, the guidance from my husband, Awal Ashaari, and the ability to see things in different perspectives.

What do you like about the new future classic, the Boxyz bag?
I find it very classic but modern at the same time. Thoughtful details like the small buckle on the front, to me that is what Salvatore Ferragamo is all about. I can see it’s original. I can imagine using it almost every day, attached with a strap when I wear my normal attire, and as a top handle bag with my formal long gowns. It holds all the essentials, it's convenient and practical: perfectly built for all occasions.
How does the Boxyz bag relate to women of today?
It’s strong, it’s solid and compact. That’s like us, all women. We are strong, we know what we want, we empower each other. That’s us all in one.
