1/ Tony Stark

In Avengers: Endgame, while playing Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr is filmed wearing the aptly named Urwerk UR-105 CT Iron. It's an unsurprising choice for Downey Jr, one of America's most respected actors who also happens to have one of Hollywood's most impressive watch collections. Downey Jr owns models by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Rolex, and Bell and Ross, the latter was gifted to him by Tropic Thunder co-star Ben Stiller. The UR-105 CT Iron is an ultra-futuristic timepiece and perfect for a superhero who’s known to pioneer cutting-edge devices.

2/ Bruce Wayne

Val Kilmer might not be the most famous Batman actor, but he was the first Bruce Wayne to wear the luxury Reverso timepiece by Jaeger-LeCoultre. So watch nerds and cinephiles alike were thrilled when this handsome watch made a comeback on Christian Bale's wrist in Batman Begins. Jaeger-LeCoultre also made an appearance in the Dark Knight Rises with its limited edition Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931.

3/ Nick Fury

In Marvel Studios' blockbuster hit The Avengers, Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury wears a particularly stunning Piaget Polo, which comes housed in a white gold case. The chronograph comes with a flyback function and is secured onto Jackson's wrist using a black alligator strap. This elegant watch is also robust, boasting 50 hours' worth of power reserve, which we are sure comes in handy when Fury's monitoring the whereabouts of his agents.

4/ Yelena Belova

The adoptive sister of Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, and a Red Room operative who worked for General Dreykov, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova kicks some serious... well, you know... in the latest Black Widow film. So it makes sense this plucky teenage spy opts for a more affordable, and still powerful, G-Shock tactical ticker when she's drop kicking her enemies.

5/ Joker

For many Batman fans, myself included, Heath Ledger was the greatest Joker. In his penultimate role, Ledger played the supervillain in Christopher Nolan's 2008 DC Comic hit The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight opens with a nail-bitingly tense bank robbery, which is planned and led by the Joker, who checks the time using a Casio CA-53W before he blows his co-conspirators to kingdom come.
