Rolex remains present during The Open Championship's 150th edition

The oldest of golf's four Majors, The Open, will be played for the 150th time. In honour of the historic occasion, The Open will be played at St Andrews, the Home of Golf, which is one of the earliest golf courses known to man.

"It may be years before I fully appreciate it, but I am inclined to believe that winning The Open at the Home of Golf is the ultimate achievement in the sport," said Tiger Woods after winning The Open on the Old Course in 2000.

The Old Course is a work of nature unlike other golf courses designed by architects. It gradually evolved over more than hundreds of years. As the sport grew—being played on this vast space as early as the 16th century—the Old Course was changed, shaped by the wind and rain.

The winds are ever present and may come from any direction, posing a great challenge to golfers.

For the 30th time, St Andrews and its Old Course will host The Open from July 14 to 17. And once again, Rolex will provide the on-course clocks as it has always done at The Open every year since 1981.

Since its inaugural partnership in the sport in 1967, Rolex has supported the evolution of golf, when Arnold Palmer became the first Testimonee for Rolex in golf.

Nine Rolex Testimonees have won The Open, which totals 20 victories over the past six decades. The Swiss brand will continue to cultivate its ties with The Open as it reaches its 150th mark on the Old Course.
