The semi-transparent enamelling that coats the elaborate dial of the new Cabaret Tourbillon Handwerkskunst really sets this timepiece apart. Limited to just 30 pieces worldwide, this ticker is inspired by the very first tourbillon watch that came with a stop seconds function. Presented by A Lange & Söhne in 2008, the watch allowed the wearer to stop the balance wheel inside the rotating cage and restart it again simply by pushing the crown.

The latest model to be added to Franck Muller’s Vanguard line, the pictured Skeleton Sapphire watch features a skeletonised dial that’s visible through sheets of clear sapphire crystal. A hand-wound, in-house movement, which is splashed with colour, comes with seven days’ worth of power reserve.

IWC Schaffhausen has collaborated with longtime business partner Mercedes-AMG to create the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition AMG. Powered by an in-house automatic column wheel chronograph movement, this 43mm watch comes with an eye-catching carbon fibre weave dial that pops against the matt grey finish of its Grade 5 titanium case. Worn by brand ambassador and professional racing driver Maro Engel, this watch is strapped onto the wrist with a playful black calfskin leather strap embossed with a woven patten to match the dial.

Never one to disappoint, FP Journe has unveiled a groundbreaking prototype watch in collaboration with American film director Francis Ford Cappola to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the high-end watch manufacture’s automatic Octa Calibre 1300. Made from Tantalum and rose gold, and powered by 396 different components, the FFC Blue Prototype took two years to conceptualise and a further seven years to develop, and it tells the time using an automaton in the shape of a hand.
