While 2016 was all about princess gowns, rock n' roll silhouettes and even bohemian flairs, dreamy, romantic dresses is the style to look at for 2017, as seen at New York Bridal Week this weekend.

Jenny Packham put on an intimate Barn Dance-themed presentation that reflected the hazy, gypsy-inspired collection, designed for the "modern romantic with a wanderlust soul."

A colour palette of barleys, soft petal pinks and springtime greens was whipped into glitter flock tulle trains with beaded lace and cascading tiered skirts. Wild flowers and foliage covered the crystal illusion bodices, while exposed backs and plunging necklines exuded contemporary glamour.

Ines Di Santo also debuted a feminine and floral collection that featured hints of color in its embroidery. From slinky gowns to frothy miniskirts, transparent mesh panels and asymmetric sleeves, the collection put an overtly sexy twist on classic bridal wear, with a glamorous result. The lineup was full of current catwalk trends, from lace chokers to cutaway bodices, while scallop tier and ruffle skirts brought texture to the gowns.

Meanwhile, innovation was the key word at Reem Acra, where detachable accessories and dramatic trains that could be converted into veils made for a traditional yet fashion-forward collection. Re-embroidered lace featured throughout, while fit and flare gowns in chiffon, organza and tulle offered up a modern and crisp yet feminine silhouette.
