The congested Friday night traffic did not deter guests of Valerie Ong’s birthday party from making themselves available to live it up with her on her birthday. Held at The Point Kuala Lumpur, a restaurant she co-owns with her friend Ng Hui Jean, the party was organised by her loving boyfriend Cherchi Chen with the help of a few friends.
“We had to turn off the CCTV so she won’t try to peek,” laughs Cherchi on how he keeps his other half in the dark. When she finally arrived, she certainly looked overjoyed when she spotted family members, close friends and associates in the welcoming crowd.
Her friends also surprised her with a Belvedere bear holder alight with sparklers. When it was time to cut the birthday cake, Valerie was touched to see that the cake was recreated in the image of her beloved restaurant. The party lasted until the wee hours of the morning.
