The new featurette catches us up on Loki's entire story arch over the last six Marvel movies that he has been in

Our favourite God of Mischief, Loki, is officially returning to our screens on June 9 with a new series by Marvel that will be premiering on Disney+. In anticipation of its release, Disney and Marvel have been ramping up their publicity efforts intensely for the show.

Their newest publicity release is a featurette in which Tom Hiddleston uses Loki's time tricks to catch audiences up on the latter's story thus far and to prepare them for the series.

In the featurette, Hiddleston attempts to tell Loki's story and journey through the Marvel universe in just 30 seconds.

He speeds through his role in the events of Thor, Marvel's The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.

However, by the time he gets to Avengers: Endgame, he very nearly is out of time. He then waves his hand to freeze time and finishes telling his story.

The new series, which will pick up after Loki's role in Avengers: Endgame, will star Hiddleston as well as Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant.

It features Michael Waldron as the head writer and Kate Herron as the director.

In an interview, Hiddleson said: "I want to preserve the freshness of the show for when it emerges, but something to think about is the [show's] logo, which seems to refresh and restore. The font of how 'Loki' is spelled out seems to keep changing shape. Loki is the quintessential shapeshifter. His mercurial nature is that you don't know whether, across the MCU, he's a hero or a villain or an anti-hero. You don't know whether you can trust him. He literally and physically changes shape into an Asgardian guard, or into Captain America repeatedly. Thor talks about how he could change into a snake."
