Chef Massimo Bottura Stars In A New Film For Luxury Watchmaker Panerai
Two passions. One goal, and that is to be the best in what they do. In a new film produced by Panerai entitled Innovation, Chef Massimo Bottura explains his motto, “Tradition in evolution”.
“Look at the past in a critical way, not nostalgically. To innovate, it is necessary to take the best of the past and carry it forward into the future,” says the Italian chef of Osteria Francescana in Modena, the number one restaurant on this year's World's 50 Best Restaurants list.
Regarded as one of the culinary world’s most creative figures, Bottura has always walked the fine line between tradition and innovation, with dishes that often explore the roots of Italian cooking. He also has a penchant for making references to history, art and philosophy in explaining new creations.

Filmed in various locations in Modena, Italy, including the historic Albinelli market, it also features Bottura making his famous crunchy lasagna with Panerai's Tuttonero Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Ceramica on his wrist, an incredibly chic-in-black watch noted for being crafted entirely in ceramic including the bracelet.
Innovation is the fourth and last chapter in the Panerai Traits series highlighting the manufacture’s distinguishing qualities in watchmaking. The first three chapters featured free-diving champion Guillaume Néry, design aficionado Costas Voyatzis and photographer Jason M. Peterson.
