Coach Fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection

Clad in the quintessential New York cool vibe, Coach pushes out a biker-inspired collection that reflects what it takes to be a true blue American fashion brand.

Shifting from country to city, this recent Coach Fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection revolves around a journey across different cultures of North America as seen through the eyes of creative director Stuart Vevers.

Set on a runway presentation with an elevated train track surrounded on both sides by paintings of snow-covered hills, the collection reflects both the urban New York City and the vast mountains and plains of North America.

The mood is a familiar one that mirrors the classic American sportswear inspiration often found in the DNA of Coach, but added with a touch of edgy country chic to modernise and personalise the collection.

Seemingly a natural extension for this American leather goods brand, we see a series of leather-made outwear which includes biker vests, overcoats and duffle coats.

The colours were earthy and warm, predominantly in shades of brown, reds and blacks, to reflect the rough terrains of American outdoors. The structural details and silhouettes bring in the formidable architecture of New York to play.

In line with the heavy coats and jackets, lightweight pieces are also featured, which include quirky sweaters (with cartoon skulls and colourful floral prints), see-through patterned skirts and minimal grey dresses with silk bandanas that remind us of cross-country Harley Davidson bikers in Hollywood films (think Wild Hogs with John Travolta but chic and stylish).

For accessories, we see a range of youthful and fun designs including bags plastered with words like 'Lucky' and 'Nomad'. Along with the staple black and whites shades, there are also brighter and bolder hues derived from a sunset-themed palette.

Shoes worn are mainly combat boots. Extremely practical, warm and sturdy, they also have enough 'coolness' to be worn as a fashion statement even in warmer days.

While its outerwear range might be a tad too warm for the Malaysian market, we think that the skirts, dresses and sweaters are very much wearable in our tropical climate.

That said, there is no stopping any of us to stock up on the uber-stylish biker vests and jackets for our coming winter travels.
